Truth Without Fear
There’s trouble ahead when you live only for the approval of others, saying what flatters them, doing what indulges them. Popularity contests are not truth contests—look how many scoundrel preachers were approved by your ancestors! Your task is to be true, not popular.
~ Luke 6:26
As leaders in the church – and followers of Christ – we are all too often lured by the need to be liked. By everyone. Jesus called us to speak the truth, and the truth is often hard to swallow. Speaking what is true often makes us unpopular. Makes us outsiders.
Sets us apart.
How fitting – because He has set us apart. Set us apart to speak the truth – without fear. Truth without fear of reprisal; truth without fear of upsetting the status quo; truth without fear of who will leave, or who will stay.
Truth. WITHOUT FEAR.
What truths are you hiding from?
What truths will you speak today?
